Skateboarding has had many iconic moments in its long history. A constant in skateboarding culture is skateboarding videos. Skateboarding videos make or break a skateboarders career and help influence the progression of skateboarding. With skateboarding video content dropping constantly every day on social media and YouTube in bite sized junks, we can’t help to appreciate the days of full skateboarding movie releases. The early 2000’s produced some of the greatest skateboarding movies of all time. We gathered a list of some of our favorite skateboarding videos that we feel had a grand impact on skateboarding culture. This list displays all aspects of skateboarding and are monumental in their own way. Check them out below:

Yeah Right – Girl Skateboards(2003)

In 2003, Girl Skateboards released one of the most iconic skateboard movies of all time, Yeah Right. With the beloved company already having released impactful videos like Mouse and Goldfish, everyone wondered how they could go up from there. With the help of Spike Jonze and Ty Evans, Yeah Right was released with overwhelming praise including not only incredible video parts from professional skaters, but skits as well. Just some of the many incredible video parts from pro skateboarders include Eric Koston, Rick McCrank, Paul Rodriguez, Gino Ianucci and Brandon Biebel.

Baker 3 – Baker Skateboards (2005)

The early 2000’s produced some of the best skate videos of all time and our next pick is Baker 3. This one of of the most raw videos for its time displaying not only incredible skateboarding, but other aspects of the culture including hiynx and partying. Majority of the video was shot by Beagle who kept the camera running the whole time. Notable video parts include Andrew Reynolds, Antwuan Dixon, Bryan Herman, and Jim Greco.

Fully Flared – Lakai Footwear (2007)

Fully Flared from Lakai Footwear pushed the boundaries of skateboarding in so many ways. From front to back, Lakai’s video was a masterpiece led yet again by Ty Evans and Spike Jonze. The beginning starts with their team skating exploding skate-spots with Mike Mo Capaldi doing one of the most memorable kickflips of all time. Guy Mariano also had an impactful comeback video part picking up where he left off years before. The music selection was on-point giving a feel to each pro skaters’ video parts. Some memorable video parts include Mike Mo Capaldi, Marc Johnson, Mike Carroll, Alex Olson and Guy Mariano.

The DC Video – DC Shoes (2003)

The DC Video was one of the most anticipated skateboarding movies of all time coming out in 2003. This video featured everything from inspirational street video parts and Danny Way introducing the world to the Mega Ramp. What makes this video special is all the footage from Love Park in Philadephia, PA from Josh Kalis and Stevie Williams. Ryan Smith also had an insane part as well. The DC Video also introduced the world to “Big Black,” a friendly security guard for skateboarders. With this all being said, Danny Way’s video part stole the show skating both street and vert and of course, iconic Mega Ramp footage.

Sorry – Flip Skateboards (2002)

Flip’s Sorry featured some of the most heaviest skateboarding in one video all thanks to their all-star roster of professional skateboarders. Geoff Rowley, Bastien Salabanzi, Tom Penny, Mark Appleyard, and Alex Chalmers all had very memorable parts. Ali Boulala’s part was filled with hyjinx and footage of his attempt at the infamous Lyons stair set in France. This is a must watch video part not only for its soundtrack but all the tricks done in this video stand up to the standards of professional skateboarding today.

Ride The Sky – Fallen Footwear (2008)

Fallen Footwear’s Ride The Sky was one of the last great skateboarding movies of the 2000’s featuring a collective group of gnarly skateboarders. Chris Cole’s last part was so good it won him his second Skater of the Year award from Thrasher Magazine. Other memorable video parts include skating from Tommy Sandoval, Gilbert Crockett, Billy Marks and Brian Hansen.

Almost Round 3 – Almost Skateboards (2004)

Almost Round 3 from Almost Skateboards has to be one of the best technical street skateboard videos of all time. With Rodney Mullen and Daewon Song leading the charge the video will blow your mind. The video also features a video part from a very young Ryan Sheckler displaying a high level of talent early on that would send his popularity to the main stream. Daewon Song took tricks that seemed impossible at the time and made them look easy carving his name into professional skateboarding’s Mount Rushmore.

Stay Gold – Emerica Shoes (2010)

Emerica shoes’s Stay Gold might just be one the best skateboarding videos of all time due to impactful parts and unique direction. Emerica’s team at the time consisted of Andrew Reynolds, Jerry Hsu, Brandon Westgate, Leo Romero, Bryan Herman, Justin Figueroa and more. Andrew Reynolds a highly regarded video part especially for his age doing everything he could health wise to go big. Leo Romero dropped a heavy enough part to win a Skater of the Year Award from Thrasher Magazine. Jerry Hsu pushed his body to the limits so much at this point it forced him to skate switch stance for his whole video part. If there is one skateboarding video on this list you MUST watch, it’s this one.

Dying To Live – Zero Skateboards (2002)

Zero Skateboard’s Dying To Live was one of the most raw skateboarding videos the early 2000’s. Zero Skateboards already had the reputation of skaters who skated the biggest rails, stairs and gaps. The video featured footage of Jamie Thomas’ attempt at the “leap of faith”, gnarly skateboarding from Chris Cole and much more. If you are someone who is into watching this type of skateboarding. This is a must watch.
