A showcase representing the breadth and depth of the 518 jazz scene was held again this year. The length of the festival and other obligations prevented me from fully attending and recapping this event.

Eight bands ranging from Hardbop to Experimental was a good representation of the talent in the area. The music ranged from the Hardbop of Vinnie Martucci Trio, the experimental Jazz Funk fusion of Tarik Shah Trio, the Smooth Jazz of Out Of The Box, to the vocals of Jeanine Ouderkirk and NOLA stylings of the Brass Machine. The fine food and atmosphere of the Cock Bull enhanced the music and made for a great day. Thanks to all the staff of the Cock & Bull as well as the work of Keith Pray to bring this event together.
