Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year award is hands down one of the most prestegious awards in skateboarding. The award is not just based on talent, it is also based on what skateboarders contribute to the “sport.” The award was first given to none other than Tony Hawk in 1990.
There is no limit to how many times you can win the award and until now, only Chris Cole and Danny Way have won the award twice. Why is the award the most prestigeous? It is because Thrasher Magazine is the most core skateboarding outlet in the world.
