RECAP: Harvestfest 2019 at Woods Valley Ski Area

The 1st Annual Harvestfest: A Tribute to Mother Earth took place at the Woods Valley Ski Area on October 19th 2019. The one-day music festival was organized by the same promoters that put together Woods Fest at the same location this past summer. Harvestfest celebrates the giver of life, Mother Earth, and consisted of female led acts, including multiple sets of Hayley Jane with Rob Compa and Root Shock who headlined the night. Inside the Woods Valley Ski Area lodge, there were two harvest themed stages in conjoining rooms for non-stop music from the afternoon through the night. The festival ended with a super jam that consisted of many of the female musicians that performed throughout the festival.

The festival spanned both floors of the lodge which was decked out in harvest-themed decor. The hay bales and funky gourds combined with the massive stone fireplace in the middle of the dance floor made for a unique and festive setting perfect for the seasonal event. Local vendors were set up on both floors selling everything from hats and honey, to jewelry and clothing. Artwork done by the live-painter was displayed throughout the venue as well. Food and drinks were available all night long, there was something for everybody available!

Hayley Jane played intermittently between Lady Daisy River, Erica T. Bryan and The New Mosaic, Late Earth, and Viva Mayhem. Each group brought a different sound to the stage but the lineup provided the perfect energy for the intimate ski lodge setting. Unforgettable moments included Hayley Jane performing an unrecorded song that had the entire crowd entranced, Viva Mayhem’s unique instrumentals and stage presence, as well as Root Shock’s Jessica Brown addressing the crowd to discuss the undeniably powerful and inspiring feminine energy that fueled the evening and praise Groovesafe and their mission.

Groovesafe, a company spreading awareness about unwanted touching at shows, had a booth set up at Harvestfest. Their goal is to provide a safe environment for live music to be enjoyed by everyone. A portion of the profits of this event were donated to Groovesafe. Check out photos from Harvestfest below:
