Lil Wayne and Blink 182 Release Live Mashup Song

(Writer:  Doug Quimby)

Lil Wayne and Blink 182 announced that they will be co-headlining a tour this upcoming summer. With the announcement they released a mashup song of “A Milli” and “What’s My Name Again?” A music video for the mashup song was also released.

It’s an interesting combination to say the least, but it’s a combo that will bring you back to your younger years. Lil Wayne’s A Milli seems to fit well inside of Blink 182’s What’s My Name Again? This seems like a teaser of what’s to come from this tour. Maybe there will be more mashups to come or even a collaboration on a new one. People who have already purchased tickets to shows have been informed that they will receive a digital copy of either Lil Wayne’s or Blink 182’s upcoming album. Is Wayne going rock again. You can watch the video here:

This isn’t Lil Wayne’s first time dabbling into the punk/rock scene, having released Rebirth in February 2010. Rebirth was Lil Wayne’s rock album debut which was a mix of hip-hop drums, guitar, bass, and autotune. It wasn’t met with great reviews at the time, but the music industry has changed since then. The rise of Soundcloud and sad/emo rap has seen the merge of the punk/rock and hip-hop genres. So if Lil Wayne releases another rock album, people wouldn’t be so thrown off by it. Either way, this will be a fun show to see. For tour and ticket information, please click here.
