Let’s talk venue first… Caffe Lena is legendary and has played host to some of the most incredible musical performances. Currently, It employs a handful of staff who meticulously care for the legacy of this 66 year old listening room. Volunteers make up the rest of the staff on any given night. And they are all the best people you could imagine, helpful, kind and really into the music.
Now, I have seen John play big festival stages and rockin’ late night sets that go into the wee hours of the morning (3 am) This fella is a powerhouse. But he was built for these beautiful listening rooms. The stories he tells between tunes set the pace and the vibe for the evening. The acoustic sound coupled with John’s song bird vocals lay a striking foundation for a soul filling experience. The only complaint I heard was, “I wish it were longer…”
