The mood of the students was a little bit different than the beginning of the series. Some were observed with notebooks and videoing the concert. All were eager to glean the final lessons that were taught during their transformational 2 weeks. The instructors of the 2nd week performed for the students and public.

There was a lot of lecture as well as brilliant playing by this septet of virtuoso Jazz educators.

Among the compositions covered were “7 Steps To Heaven (Miles Davis), Ceora (Lee Morgan), Bebop (Dizzy Gillespie) and “Nearness of You”.

This wraps up the evening concert series for 2026. The finale is a matinee featuring the students.
