I’ve been a fan of the Dogs since I stumbled upon one of their songs back in 2023. Since then, I’ve ventured out to see them live at several locations across New York State, making this my 8th attendance. But this time was different. This time I was getting to photograph them; a dream come true from a superfan that happens to also be a photographer.

Words are so difficult to describe this band’s sound, for they appear to transcend genres throughout their discography. Saying they’re a jam band or like the Grateful Dead might be a good start, but they have evolved beyond that into their entirely own entity. The best way to truly understand who they are is to listen to them perform live yourself. They’re known for playing unique shows every performance so each time is a different experience from the last, and being able to check off new songs you were hoping to finally hear in person can be quite satisfying.

Each and every one of the band members is extremely talented in their own right. Even the lighting and sound crew absolutely kill it every time. I just know that the Dogs are going to make it big someday, and I hope to be there again when they do.
