Being video and photography creator, I always thought the iPad was a useless device for how I work. My thought process has now completely changed since the release of the iPad Pro M4.

Once I saw that you could edit videos at almost the same level as a normal computer, I was sold and immediately went out and bought one. It has changed the way I work and my mobile workflow in general. If you are someone who is always on the go and needs to process media for the now, this device is something you should seriously consider purchasing. Here are 10 reasons you should buy the iPad Pro M4 if you are a creator.

The Ability to Edit Video

One of my main reasons for purchasing an iPad Pro M4 is the fact that you can edit videos on the go with almost the same user experience that you would have on a traditional computer. Gone are the days of an iPad just being a great device to watch movies and surf the internet.

I use Final Cut Pro on my iPad and have cut promo videos for clients, travel vlogs and much more. For a device so thin, it amazes me that I can import and edit my 4k and even 8k video footage with ease and no lag.

Aside from Final Cut Pro, there is also Davinci Resolve as another alternative. Unfortunately, there is no Adobe Premiere Pro available on the App Store, only Premiere Rush which we do not recommend for those who are used to more professional software.

Use Portable Drives

Another big seller for me on the iPad Pro M4 is the fact that you can import and run files off a portable Solid State Drive. For all files and photos that I don’t use everyday, I keep them on my SSD. This is amazing when it comes to big video projects. If I have a 250gb video project, I do not want to eat up all my space on my iPad Pro M4 so I keep the project on my portable SSD and work off of it. I recommend Samsung’s T7 Portable SSD drive as I have had great experiences with them.

Variety of Apps Available

There is a wide variety of apps for creatives in all fields on iPad’s App Store. From video editing software photo editing, graphic design and much more, there is something for everyone. Adobe even has full versions of Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom available.

Improve Your Mobile Workflow

Having an iPad Pro could definitely improve your mobile work flow. If you are someone who works events, having a device to edit on the go and share right away is very important. The iPad Pro M4 is more portable than a laptop, has better battery life and if you have the budget, can also receive cellular service.

I bring this to every music festival I work because it allows me to get my photos and videos out there before other photographers which in hand makes clients happy. This also doesn’t come at the expense of sacrificing quality as a I can do everything that I would on my MacBook Pro, on my iPad Pro M4.

High Resolution Screen

The iPad Pro M4 has one of the absolute best screens out there. This is great if you are a photographer because you are able to edit and view your photos in the best way possible. There are times where I contemplate, should I edit my photos on my iPad or my MacBook pro?

Aside from using it for photography, it is also great for color grading your footage in Final Cut Pro because you will get the most accurate results. Watching movies and videos on the iPad Pro M4 is also amazing. It is bring and has a Ultra Retina XDR display.

Incredibly Light and Portable

It is crazy how much power the iPad Pro M4 packs coming in at 1.28 pounds and .2 inches thin(for the 13 inch model). You barely notice it in your bag. This is a great device to travel with but we do recommend getting screen cover or case for this if you are not buying the Magic Keyboard.

Magic Keyboard is Phenomenal

The updated Magic Keyboard feels almost identical to a MacBook Pro. The design is sleek and doesn’t add much weight to the iPad Pro M4. The trackpad is very responsive and decent in size. It also features a function row of keys which makes the user experience that much better. While Magic Keyboard doesn’t bend all the way back, it functions and feels like you are actually using a laptop. It connects seamlessly to the iPad Pro M4 and is hard on the outside to protect it from any dings or scratches.

The Ultimate Business Tool

One of my biggest frustrations of being a business owner is having to answer a detailed email over my phone. It is so nice to have cellular service built right in to my iPad Pro and to have a full keyboard available to answer those emails on the go.

You can do every type of data/word processing right from an iPad. I love using this device for programs like Google Docs/Sheets, Outlook, Dropbox and so much more. If you aren’t someone who needs all the extra processing power, ram and hard drive space, the iPad Pro M4 would be just fine as your main workhorse.

Use The iPad Pro M4 as a Camera Monitor

Another reason I love this iPad Pro M4 is that I frequently use it as a camera monitor to show clients or just view your camera shot with a bigger screen. I find myself constantly hooking up my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 while recording which I can also control right from the camera’s app DJI Mimo. Mostly all camera makers make an app for the iPad to control your camera. This is a great way to impress your clients by letting them see the shot you are filming or even just make your life easier

It’s Great For Gaming

Yes this has absolutely nothing to do with content creation but hey why not include it? I love playing video games on iPad Pro M4. It’s high resolution and processing power allows to have games like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas run on it. You can even emulate games on it from systems like the Nintendo 64 with the Delta App and PlayStation Portable(using the PPSSPP App). To complete my gaming experience, I use my PlayStation 4 controller with my iPad Pro M4.
