Ominous Seapods returned to Monopole in Plattsburgh, NY on October 19th for a special sold out night. The band celebrated 35 years since they first started playing the legendary North Country venue. Plattsburgh was the city where the band got their start and in 1989, they got their first opportunity to play upstairs at the pole.

Their loyal fanbase, the “mutants” all gathered around the band in the intimate space as they played 2 sets of music that went until 2:30am. While it was about the music, it was also very much about the memories that were created during their reign in Plattsburgh. It was great to over hear and see people reminiscing about the good ole’ days.

For fans of live music, The Monopole is a must to stop at with bands like Goose, The Disco Biscuits and so many more passing through to play their at the early stages of their career. The Ominous Seapods busted out a lot of classic tunes with a couple of covers sprinkled throughout the night. Each set featured high energy jams and grooves that kept the attention of the fans on the band all night long. After the band cranked out their 2 sets, they came back on for what everyone was looking forward to experiencing which was “Leaving The Monopole.”

This left their “mutants” hungry for even more. Ominous Seapods got permission to play 2 more songs during their encore. No one wanted to the night to end but it was time to leave the Monopole. That being said, the band mentioned that they would like to return to the venue next year so if you weren’t able to get tickets to the show, there might be another opportunity to catch them at the legendary venue!
