SCHAGHTICOKE, NY – Get ready for another week of fair fun in the Town of Schaghticoke with the 205th season of The Great Schaghticoke Fair.
The Great Schaghticoke Fair returns to Rensselaer County Wednesday, August 28, with gates opening at 10 a.m. Opening day will kick off with $2 Dollar Day, which includes $2 fair admission, $2 rides on any attraction(s), and $2 on select food items. Children 13-years-old and under are able to enter the fairgrounds during the fair week for free and parking is free daily. General admission for the fairgrounds, starting from Thursday, August 29 and running through Labor Day, Monday, September 2, is $15 per person.
New this year, the fairgrounds will offer a Buy One, Get One Unlimited Rides Wristband for $30, starting Thursday, August 29.
Free daily concerts will be held at the Park Stage, including Larger Than Life, a tribute act who will bring the #1 boyband experience to new fans in the deliverance of songs played by Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, and One Direction. They will make their fair debut Friday, August 30, 8 p.m.
Welcome to Schaghticoke, Flo Rida
Headlining this year’s fair will be nine-time Grammy-nominated artist, Flo Rida, who will make his performance debut at the Schaghticoke fairgrounds. Flo Rida, known for his hit songs, “Whistle”, “Low” (feat. T-Pain), “My House”, and “Right Round” (feat. Ke$ha), will bring his pop, hip-hop hits to Schaghticoke. The concert, presented by FLY 92.3 FM, will be held Saturday, August 31, 8 p.m. at the Grandstand Stage.
Tickets for the show went on sale March 29 and can be purchased on the fair website. Ticket prices range from $39.55, $49.85, $55.00, and $80.75 for VIP seating, which includes front stage admission, private bar area, and separate portable restrooms. Fair patrons who want to attend the concert, must also purchase a ticket to attend the fair.
Additional Activities
In addition to live music, fairgoers can enjoy additional attractions including high-octane motorsports, the Royal Hanneford Circus, a K9 performance team, and a stingray encounter.
Grandstand Motor Sports events will be held daily at the grandstand. Patrons must purchase a ticket to attend all grandstand events, including NYTPA Tractor Pulls, VT Tractor Pullers, Truck Pulls, and the Stoney Roberts Demolition Derby. Please note that a $2.50 ticket is required for the Sunday and Monday grandstand events.
Live animal and local exhibits will be on display daily from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Tickets for the fair can be purchased in advance at a discount from Price Chopper/Market 32 stores and on the fair’s website and will be available at the gate.
