My Morning Jacket came to the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY last night marking their first appearance in the Capital Region since the mid-2000’s. The band didn’t hold back keeping the energy high all night long. Opening the night of was singer-songwriter Madi Diaz easing in the fans to the historic venue.
Once My Morning Jacket came out, it was a non stop party all led by the man himself, Jim James. I will admit, this was my first time seeing the act after years of friends telling me to check them out and just like some other bands(cough cough Phish), had to be experienced live to get it. Well let me tell you, I understood pretty quick why this band was so special.
Not many acts can control a crowd like My Morning Jacket with their unique approach giving each one of their songs unique feels and emotions while experiencing it live. Some stand out moments over the course of the night were Mahgeetah, Off The Record and Wordless Chorus. Check out the setlist along with a full photo gallery from the night below:
Circuital, It Beats 4U, I’m Amazed, Mahgeetah, Spinning My Wheels, I Will Be There When You Die(with Madi Diaz), Spring(Among The Living), Off The Record, Lay Low, Old Sept. Blues, I Will Sing You Songs, Phone Went West, Victory Dance, Holdin On to Black Metal, Lucky To Be Alive, Wordless Chorus
