Though they may be older, Bikini Kill show no signs of slowing down now that their reunion tour is in full swing. What was supposed to happen in 2020, but subsequently delayed by the pandemic multiple times, is now paying off for fans old and new. The age ranged from 6 to 60 at Roadrunner in Boston, MA on Easter Sunday with everyone dancing, moshing, singing a long, and generally just having a great time for the punk rock veterans.

Kathleen Hanna not only sang her heart out all evening, but she told wonderful stories about opening for bands back in the day, how it was great to see a crowd of different looking people taking care of one another while moshing, how a twitter friend helped her with some therapy, and how you don’t have to stay with family that just won’t do the right thing by you and society. The show was 24 songs in 80 minutes and it felt like a sprint the entire time. Watching the foursome on stage still bringing all of this energy was amazing to see after thinking it would never happen again. Brontez Purnell began the night with a half hour set full of quick punk rockers that got the crowd in the mood for the rest of the night. Between the songs Brontez had some of the funniest stage banter in quite some time.
