Legendary guitarist Jeff Beck has passed away at the age of 78. An official statement was made via Beck’s social media accounts, read below:

“On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.”

 

Beck was known for being one of the most technical guitar players early on pushing the boundaries in rock and blues music. He as famous early on as a guitarist in the Yardbirds and eventually started his own solo group.
