This past Saturday was surreal to say the least. Thank you to Greg Bell for everything you have done over the past three decades. It has been a joy to cover your life these past few years with Kim Neaton and was worth all the sleepless nights. Thank you to everyone who came out to see the film!
It was a great learning experience to work on something as extensive as this project. My main goal before even starting this documentary was to learn how to tell a story properly. Greg’s story is a very special one and derseved the proper treatment. Without Kim, this would have not been possible. She was the one who really linked the pieces together, spent tons of time finding and scheduling people to interview and kept things organized.
Thank you to Eastbound Jesus for the inspiration for the whole ducmentary and for rocking out before the movie. If you want the full story of Greg Bell story in a matter of minutes, head over to Spotify and crank the song right now!
Shoutout to every single person who took the time to let us interview them for Grapplin’ Greg. They were the ones who helped paint the picture of the Capital Region music scene since the mid 80’s.
Thank you to the Palace Theatre for allowing us to co-host an event on a stage where so many memories have been made. It was a true honor.
What’s next? Stay tuned!
