‘Spinal Tap’ Set to Receive Sequel – Set to Release In 2024
The legendary rock movie Spinal Tap is receiving a sequel that is set to release on May 19th, 2024 in honor of the films 40th anniversary. The announcement was made official by director Rob Reiner and is calling it “This Is Spinal Tap II”.
Reiner told Deadline:
“The plan is to do a sequel that comes out on the 40th anniversary of the original film and I can tell you hardly a day goes by without someone saying, why don’t you do another one?…For so many years, we said, ‘nah.’ It wasn’t until we came up with the right idea how to do this. You don’t want to just do it, to do it. You want to honor the first one and push it a little further with the story.”
What is even cooler is that the sequel will feature the original cast of Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, Michael McKean including the original script writers. For more information check out Deadline’s full coverage by clicking here.
