What was supposed to be a regular tour stop on the Car Seat Headrest and Bartees Strange tour turned into a special occasion. Unfortunately Bartees Stranger, who has been opening the whole tour, had to drop out of the show due to someone in the touring party getting COVID. When it was announced, Car Seat Headrest said that members of the band would be opening for themselves. The sold out crowd was treated to painting by drummer Andrew Katz, some of guitarist Ethan Ives’ solo band Toy Bastards, and then Will Toledo playing some rare material that the main band doesn’t touch. It was exciting to see Will out of his normal stage attire playing these songs. To end it Andrew and Will played a couple of songs from 1 Trait Danger, the EDM side project they formed a few years ago. The crowd then went wild for a little under an hour and a half as the full band tore through an all killer no filler 13 song set. The high energy was definitely felt by Will and the band who commented that it might have been the best crowd of the tour so far.
