Sydney Worthley and El Modernist Rock The Halls at Lark Hall in Albany, NY
Sydney Worthley performed a stand out set at Lark Hall in Albany, NY receiving support from Alternative rockers El Modernist. Josh Morris was also set to play but due to inclement wintery weather. With that being said, for the fans who braved the roads were treated to two sets of music from the biggest up and coming acts from the Capital Region.
El Modernist comprised of Will Fredette(vocals/ rhythm guitar), Will Hahn(Drums), Taylor MacMillan(Lead Guitar), Joe DeTillio(Bass) have had a busy fall with recent performances at The Linda and the newly build Empire Underground. The band has a signature sound and in time have the talent and originality to climb the ladder. This is also not the first time the El Modernist and Sydney Worthley have been on the same bill together. Earlier this year, both acts performed on Dutch Apple Cruise Lines as part of the City of Albany, NY’s Virtual Alive at 5 series.
Sydney Worthley and her talented band have had a phenomenal year to say the least. Between releasing a brand new album and being nominated for “Record of the Year,” she has left a great impression on the Capital Region community surrounding areas. She makes a great frontwoman because of her ability to command the stage, interactions with bandmates and incredible voice.
Her act has a sound giving a nostalgic feel of 2000’s rock. The music is also catchy due to Worthley’s songwriting skills. I was introduced to her music nearly a half a year ago and during her performance at Lark Hall, I realized I felt like I knew all the lyrics from the songs. She and her group have what it takes to reach mainstream success. We highly encourage giving her latest album Rose Colored Glasses a listen which is available on Spotify.
