Gallery: Spoon and Nicole Atkins at The Capitol Theatre

Thursday night Spoon and Nicole Atkins took to The Capitol Theatre and rocked the house. Spoon spanned their entire discography through the 19 song set as well as a cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation”. Britt Daniel called out multiple members of the crowd in attendance he recognized including the founder of “Fuck Yes Spoon”, an online community for fans of the band. This led to a chant through the venue of the communities name, with the band smiling and taking it all in. It felt like the band never took a breath the entire evening and were clearly happy to be back on the road. Nicole Atkins and the Family Band were also happy to be back on the road opening the show. Most of the set came from the excellent “Italian Ice” that came out last year and ended with a great take on Led Zeppelin’s “What Is and What Should Never Be”. Both bands are always great to see live and should always be seen if they come through your city.
