Gallery: IDLES at House of Blues Boston 10/12/21
IDLES put on one of the most raucous shows before the concert industry came to a halt last year. It was great to see that nothing has changed now that we’re back up and running at basically full steam. Band members dove into the audience with no care. There were mosh pits and crowd surfers the entire night. The band even brought up Max, a 12 year old in the front row, who asked to sing “Danny Nedelko” with them and it happened to be the next song in the set. Max absolutely stole the spotlight for the song and had the crowd cheering his name afterwards. “Love Song” included a snippet of Boston’s “More Than a Feeling”, which was a nice nod to the city and had plenty in the audience smiling and laughing. The concert ended with the openers Gustaf, who put on a great opening set including a guest spot by lead singer Lydia Gammill’s dad, accompanying on “Rottweiler” and both bands going absolutely insane including a guitar being smashed to pieces. This tour is going across the states for the next few weeks and is an affair not to miss.
