RECAP: Soulation at Bernie’s Beach Bar in Hampton, NH
As live shows are starting to kick off again across the country at a smaller scale, local New Hampshire favorites like Soulation are jumping back on stage. Soulation kicked right back into high gear last Sunday night when they hit the stage at Bernie’s Beach Bar in Hampton, New Hampshire.
The show was Soulation’s first time headlining at Bernie’s and consisted of two sets. The first set was a jam set with Colin McKenna on drums and lead vocals, Andrew Delgrasso on keys, Tyler Schrempf on bass, and D. J. DePasquale on guitar. The local legend Joe Sambo even graced the stage for an impromptu cover of Sublime’s “Garden Groove.”
The highlight of the first set was when Soulation broke out into a cover of Tom Petty’s “Breakdown.” The second set was a full band set. It was comprised of mostly Soulation originals with several covers sprinkled through the set. Lead vocalist Kaila Noelle Gutierrez sang powerful covers of both Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.”
Soulation also has an upcoming show at 3s Artspace in Portsmouth, NY as part of their Loading Docks Concert Series. Check out photos and the setlist from Soulation’s performance at Bernie’s Beach Bar below:
