How are things going with Fixation Fabrics since the impact of the COVID-19?
Things are daily smooth all things considered. When it got serious I was living & working in the bus in Eugene Oregon and decided it would be best to head home. Since I got home business has been consistent.

What things have you been doing to keep yourself busy?
Work definitely keeps me busy still, I play a few online games, outdoor activities with my dog Cleo, and FaceTiming with friends near and far.

Have you been working on any new tye-dye designs?
In the past few months I’ve definitely been experimenting with new ideas and plan to implement them more in the future!

How was your west coast adventure?
Very exciting to say the least. It’s crazy being out there on your own. I’m 26 and it was my first time doing a long term, cross country trip by myself (with the exception of Cleo) and it was quite a learning experience!

What did it feel like to come back home to the ADK?
10k miles, 30 states, and 4 months later, it definitely feels good to be home!

How has corona’s impact on the live music/entertainment industry affected you?
I miss it. Haha. It’s been interesting. I really miss it but it’s been such a unique experience with these artists doing so much virtually. It gives us fans a deeper look into their personal lives and allows us to form a deeper understanding to why/how they do what they do. So I’m looking at the positive! We will all be back together soon enough.

Do you have any advice for artists/creators struggling?
Make your artwork a priority. Even if it isn’t generating the same income as you are used to, keep providing content. This is a time of renaissance and the public needs you. As far as making a living being an artist during this time? Create special offers, make thematic artwork. Delve deeper into your creative boundaries, we all need you right now!

Who are some of your favorite tye-dye designers in the scene?

  • Austin Mackareth – @dyesandgoodvibes
  • Timofey – @mlr_tiedye
  • Josh Cohen – @workingmansdyes

How were all those Goose shows?
Really unexpected, haha. I only meant to hit the Phoenix show but met up with some friends new and old honestly, and they were doing the whole tour so I said screw it, and joined em.

What was coming up for you in the coming months prior to the impact of COVID-19?
I was planning to do some west coast festivals in California and Oregon. There are some legendary shows out there I’ve always wanted to hit.

What things do you miss the most with having to social distance?
Kissing the homies goodnight.

What music has been getting you through these stressful times?
Music, art, and seeing the community come together no matter what!

When going out and about, what precautions are you taking with social distancing?
I wear a mask at the store, I sanitize and/or wash my hands after and type of public encounter.

How can fans support fixation fabrics during these hard times?
Everything from a share, like, or purchase makes me smile! I will continue to do my drops of brand new material every Friday at 8 PM EST!
