Pink Talking Fish kicked off their New Years run with a stellar two set show in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania Friday night.  Seamlessly weaving between the catalogs of Pink Floyd, Talking Heads and Phish, combined with some massive exploratory jamming and an elaborate light show, the “more than a cover” band unwrapped one heck of post holiday treat for music fans in attendance at the Sherman Theater. Pigs (3 Different Ones), Astronomy Domine” and “Sanity” followed, then a massive version of “Crosseyed and Painless” which saw a surprising “Reptillia” tease by the Strokes. A stunningly beautiful Divided Sky/Mother combo closed out a pitch perfect first set.”

After a brief intermission, set two opened with a jammed out version of the popular Phish song “Free,” which transitioned into “Found a Job” by Talking Heads, a song that also saw the band dabble with a “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” tease, perhaps foreshadowing the next song, a near perfect rendition of Floyd’s “Shine on You Crazy Diamond.”  Picking things back up a notch, the always funky “Tube” came next, effortlessly segueing into another Head’s song, “Swamp” before returning to peak of “Tube.”  The sentimental “Wish You Were Here” rounded out the strong second set, before the boys returned to the stage for a single song encore, “Walk Away.”
