The Night Running Tour featuring Beck and Cage the Elephant with Spoon made their way to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center(SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, NY for a high energy Monday night concert experience. Also performing was opener Sunflower Bean based out of New York City.
The tour started off earlier in July making stops all across the United States. Spoon have been celebrating each night playing songs from all throughout their career which started in the mid-1990’s. The group recently put out their first greatest hits album titled Everything Hits at Once: The Best of Spoon. Cage the Elephant played an explosive set led by frontman Matt Shultz. Shultz really knows who get the crowd on their feet with his antics, giving them a true rock and roll experience.

Guitarist Brad Shultz brought a strong stage presence as well. In the first few songs, he made his way into the pit of the venue while ripping his guitar all at the same time. At the end of the set, “We Are the Champions” by Queen played on the house speakers while Matt Shultz did the crowd surf of a life time! He crowd surfed from the stage, all the way up in inside seating of SPAC and then all the way to the top of the lawn. This has to be a new record set at the beloved venue in Saratoga Springs, NY!
After a nutty set from Cage the Elephant, it was time for Beck. The grammy award winning artist wasted no time by getting the set started off with “Loser.” Not only was Beck’s performance musically fascinating, the stage design was top notch with lasers and an incredible lighting setup. The night ended off with Cage the Elephant’s Matt Shultz and Spoon’s Britt Daniel coming on stage with Beck performing “Where it’s At” with confetti falling ending this incredible night at SPAC.
