Formula 5 Treats Hometown Fans With Halloween Show in Lake George, NY
Formula 5 returned to King Neptune’s in Lake George, New York Friday, October 26th. The band has been on their “Widespread Dead” themed fall tour playing dates down the east coast. The first set was dedicated to playing songs from Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic’s repertoire. Formula 5 opened the night up with a ripping cover of “Porch Song” into the beloved Dead track “China Cat Sunflower.” After going back and forth playing songs from both legendary acts, the set ended with “Tennessee Jed.”
The second set was all about the original tunes. “Trout Waters, Pt. 1” was the first selection of the set from their latest album All Points North. The music really never stopped with Formula 5 then going into an “Out of Water” jam followed by “Come Along,” an original by keyboardist Matt Richards. Later, the band busted out “Pedro,” from their second album Edging On Catastrophe. Formula 5 ended their set with a cover of Phish’s “2001” featuring teases of “Martian Monster.” The hometown boys then came back on for an encore sending the crowd home with “Booher’s Pass.”
Formula 5 continues their tour heading out to the Midwest and including shows in Colorado. On November 23rd, they will be opening up for The Disco Biscuits at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY. Tickets are still available.
