Sony Announces PlayStation Classic
It has nearly been a quarter century since the initial release of the PlayStation and the company found an amazing way to pay homage to the system in the form of the PlayStation Classic. With over 102 million units sold in its lifetime the original PlayStation was a major success and streamlined the world of gaming in a way consumers have never seen before. It was a pioneer of sorts due to the systems success in fun-pact, three dimensional releases that could be enjoyed at home. And in a couple months time consumers can enjoy the system in all its glory.

It’s no surprise that the company would push for a classic version of the system that assisted in their dominance of the market, just look at the praise and reception of the Nintendo Classic; it was sold out every moment it reached stores. Similar to the Nintendo Classic, the system will come with 20 pre-loaded games and will be about 45% smaller than the original. Some of the games include Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms–with many more to be announced in the months to come!

The system rocks the iconic PlayStation look with added HDMI compatibility and 2 replica controllers included for multiplayer use. It will not come with a USB AC adaptor but the company recommends to purchase an AC adapter that supports 5 V, 1.0 A USB (Type A) output. It will be available for pre-order in the United States and Canada and come with the price tag of $99.99 USD.
Sony plans to release the system on December 3, 2018 which also happens to be the same date that the original PlayStation made its debut back in ’94!
