An impromptu evening with Thievery Corporation explored in a photo essay:

I have endless praise for this band/ production. Thievery Corporation is made up of duo Eric Hilton, who mainly does studio work, and Rob Garza a true master of ceremonies. With a full stage they deliver the most incredible evening of body moving music. The sonic and visual landscape of the evening was indescribably immense. A seemingly unassuming Thursday night became a life changing event. The venue alone was an incredible choice, a reimagined warehouse space called The Basilica, right across the street from the Hudson River and rail station in Hudson New York. Free parking and a fantastic staff were the first impressions of the evening.
On the night of April second founding member Rob Garza, was ring master of the evening. In this troupe, were two percussionists Frank Orrall (who also sang) and Jeffery Franca. On Sitar and lead guitar Rob Myers, on bass Dan Africano and vocalists/rappers Puma Ptuh, Mr. Lif, and Laura Vall . I was blown away from the beginning. They all entered the stage… pretty chill, waved their hellos and got into position. Within seconds beats dropped and the business of raising planetary vibrations commenced, like the floor dropped out and we all entered another dimension.
The way this show instantly felt like a beautiful spectacle, hit hard. The vocalists traded off, entering and exiting the stage like story tellers each getting their time in the spotlight. If it wasn’t their turn they weren’t there muddying the waters. One at a time they served reverence to the crowd. Most of the audience were deep down the rabbit hole by the second song, keeping pace with the band.
This is magic.
It is a spiritual experience.
It will turn you inside out and leave you questioning existence itself.
