Artemis, a quintet of virtuosos performed their first gig together for calendar year 2026. This two time winner of Billboard’s band of the year dazzled the almost full house with a well curated mixture of covers and their originals. The performance featured the skills of each individual.

Although, Artemis was formed as an all female band; the preface of all female is totally irrelevant with respect to its musicality and its virtuosity. The band wasted no time warming up, they charged full speed ahead with “Sign of the Snake”; opening with a pounding double bass setting up the rhythm and the band showing its musical prowess.

A retreat in Maine, inspired Allison Miller to write about the entire experience.

The last two pieces were inspired long interpretations of the two standards :

  1. Trinkle, Tinkle
  2. Footprints

“Trinkle Tinkle” featured an extended duet between Allison and Rene that had the audience transfixed to their ears. The mysterious nature of Wayne Shorter’s “Footprints” was explored thoroughly by the band.
