Trey Anastasio Band kicked off their fall tour all the way north at Thompson’s Point in Portland, ME. This is the first time Trey Anastasio’s solo band have played together since The Beacon Jams streaming series. This was also the first time the group has played live together without the late bassist Tony Markellis and saxophonist James Casey who currently has stage 3 colon cancer. Derzon Douglas was featured on bass who is a renowned jazz instrumentalist and Cochemea Gastelum on saxophone. This was the first time the band has played Thompson’s Point since 2017. The concert originally was supposed to happen
Starting the night off, Anastasio treated the crowd to an explosive “First Tube” followed by a funky “Camel Walk.” Next up was everybody’s favorite song “Ocelot.” Second set also had a very Phishy theme opening up with “Everything’s Right” into a Anastasio/Markellis original “Gotta Jibboo.” See below for the full setlist and gallery from Trey Anastasio Band’s tour opener in Portland, ME below:
