Recap: A Wylde Night with Black Label Society at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY 8/25/2026

Zakk Wylde kicked off tour August 25th at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY with Black Label Society, Zakk Sabbath. He brought along Dark Chapel to get the night started.

Dark Chapel was one of the first new metal bands that I have been excited about in a long time. Of course they had ripping solos, of course they were heavy. But they were also very soulful! A lot of metal music out there is generic today and Dark Chapel was far from it. I mean, even their cover choices. The band broke out The Temptation’s “Papa was a Rolling Stone” and Bill Wither’s “Ain’t no Sunshine.” Both were played from the heart and front man Dario Lorina had quite the pipes on him.

Up next was Zakk Sabbath. Wow, what a set of music. I almost wish that this tribute set was the headliner. All Sabbath songs performed to perfection. Some standout tracks from the set included “Fairies Wear Boots” and “NIB.” Following the set, it was time for Black Label Society. While I am not too familiar with their music, it was an hour and a half of straight up shred. Solos played with teeth, behind backs and more. Wylde even hopped on the piano for “In This River.” At one point he even busted out the solo from Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears.” Check out photos and setlists from the epic night at the Palace Theatre below:
