Improv is making a wave in the North Country! On February 15th, 2025, Pulp City Comedy brought their improv troupe to Bandstand Brew Works in Warrensburg, NY at 7pm. Their leader, Dale Mattison, studied at The Second City in Chicago. One of the members, Janine Van Norman, was responsible for booking the show. The rest of the crew consists of Dan Yakush, Avi Goldstein, Rob Hendricks, Taylor Jarvis, Wendy Steinhacker, Nicki Valastro, Clint McCarthy, Katherine Adamenko, and Cameron Pratt.
The venue opened its doors in Summer 2024 and has been thriving. The brand new building is big yet cozy and the owners have a warm, hometown vibe to them. The beer goes down nicely and their big menu has lots of wonderful options for everyone! They host tons of fun events for the community, including a weekly trivia night every Tuesday at 7pm. It’s hosted by fellow comedian and musician, Dan Fisher, of ‘That Trivia Guy’. Alternatively, every Thursday at 6:30pm they have Karaoke!
Although Mirth Films was unable to attend, but we were able to chat with Dan Yakush to gather some intel on how the night went. He said the audience of over 60 people really enjoyed the show. It was the group’s first time ever bringing up the crowd to participate in one of the scenes. We were sad to have missed such a fun night filled with laughter!
Dan stated they hope to have an upcoming show at The Wood Theater in Glens Falls, NY soon. The best way to follow their endeavors is via their social media @pulpcitycomedy
