It was perfect weather for Jazz on Jay. This 3rd concert in the series featured Matty Stecks (aka Matt Steckler) and the 518. With Wayne Hawkins on piano, Bob Halleck on drums and Mike Lawrence on bass as a last minute substitution.
An hour and a half set of original compositions were performed. Matty showed his versatility playing the tenor sax, alto sax, soprano sax and flute. The pieces had Latin, funk and even exotic influences wih a ballad thrown in.
Visual artist Keisha Renee painted on site based upon the music she was hearing. There will be no Jazz on Jay next week due to the July 4th holiday. It will resume on July 11th with MC*2.
