Recap: Glass Pony Brings High Energy Grooves to Palace Sessions in Albany, NY

Glass Pony took the stage at Palace Sessions at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY on June 7th bringing nothing but high energy grooves to the table. This is the first time the band played Palace Sessions since 2020 when they made it to the final four of Nippertown’s March Madness competition.

The band comprised of Eddie Hotaling(Guitar, lead vocals), Greg Pittz(lead guitar), Chanda Dewey(drums) rocked the crowd with two sets featuring a variety of originals, new songs and even a sit-in. The first set kicked off with a Jeff Picarazzi led “Greenhorn Blues” which set the tone for the night. Following the opener it was time for “Something Good” a fan favorite to say the least which led into “Doppler” off their latest album Washed Away. Glass Pony just recently put the album on vinyl which you should definitely pick up! The first of the new songs was “Friday Afternoon Clock.” It had a chill feeling to it and offered something different to their repertoire of music. After some bluegrass with “House on the Hill,” the first set wrapped up with “Bottom of the Ocean”

After a brief intermission, Glass Pony got back on stage and kicked off the second set with “Daydream” which led into a very heavy version of “Portraits.” Next up was another new tune called “Lights Out” led by Greg Pittz. This song is a rocker and can’t wait to see it performed again and again. The band then segued right back into “Something Good’s” solo section with Frankie Cavone walking up on stage with his guitar to finish of the song with the band. Cavone then stayed on to perform his original tune “The Watchmen” which was followed up by Iron Maiden’s “Holy Smoke” as the set closer.

Palace Sessions returns in the fall so stay tuned on more announcements about this great series which highlights the incredible local talent we have in the Capital Region. Check out photos from Glass Pony’s Palace Sessions show below:
