Recap: Twiddle Sold-Out at State Theatre in Ithaca, NY with Yam Yam

There is a saying, “Never miss a Sunday show.” And on Sunday, April 2nd, Twiddle proved there is a reason people say that. Twiddle has sold out nearly every show on their final tour before their upcoming hiatus — including The State Theatre in Ithica. And even though Sunday’s show was rescheduled in January and moved from a Friday to a Sunday night, people showed up in force.

Yam Yam

A band called Yam Yam out of Harrisburg, PA kicked things off. If you’re a fan of funktastic super jams, you’re going to want to check out Yam Yam. Yam Yam plays traditional funk, with a twist — including a few surprises like their saxophone playing the theme from the Price is Right. These guys were the perfect appetizer for what was about to be a feast of delicious Twiddle jams.

Twiddle

One of the great things about Twiddle is that you can see them more than once a week, and you likely won’t hear the same song twice. On Sunday night, they played some of their classics, as well as a few from their new album. The truly remarkable thing about this band, however, is their ability to jam. In set two, they played a “Jamflowman” and “Tiberius” sandwich that left everyone absolutely breathless — flawlessly switching back and forth between songs. If you haven’t had a chance, you’re going to want to check these guys out before they take a break — you can check out their upcoming tour dates here.
