Recap: Twiddle Sells out The Strand Center Theatre in Plattsburgh, NY

Photos/Writer: Tammie Birdwell

Last night, a Vermont-based band made a historic stop at a location that didn’t seem quite prepared for what was about to happen — a sold-out Twiddle show at The Strand Theatre in Plattsburgh NY. One Time Weekend opened up the show with a set that left us all warmed up and ready for the main event. Getting the night started was One Time Weekend.

One Time Weekend

One Time Weekend hails from Connecticut — but with some of those super delicious punk rock influences, they could easily hail from the west coast. This band rocked and played everything from funk to punk. If you missed them last night, check out their new Album out now called Fire it Up.

Twiddle

There is absolutely no denying that Twiddle leveled up when they put Adrian Tromantono on drums. When Mihali, Gubb, and Ryan added Adrian to the mix, the band went from great to stratospheric. Their jams are out of this world. And we were even treated to a few sit-ins last night from Stage Daddy himself Scott Hannay (Mihali band) as well as local percussionist Lowell Wurster (Lucid).

Setlist:

Set 1: Gatsby The Great ->Zazu’s Flight ->Brown Chicken Brown Cow (Scott Hannay on Keys) -> Divided Sky Jam -> Gatsby The Great, Syncopated Healing, Beautiful

Set 2: Distance Makes The Heart (w/ Lowell Wurster), Brick of Barley (w/Scott Hannay), Doinkinbonk!!!, Life Back Now, Slippin in the Kitchen, The Box

Encore: Hattie’s Jam -> When It Rains It Pours (w/ Lowell Wurster) -> Every Last Leaf II (w/ Scott Hannay)
